Arkansas State Taxes
Arkansas taxpayers who do not file IRS Form 4868 can request an extension of filing Arkansas state taxes by filing Form AR1055. Form AR1055 will provide a 180 day extension of time to file Arkansas state income tax returns only.
Note: if you have filed and received a Federal Extension of time to file, it is not necessary to complete Form AR1055.
To request an extension via Form AR1055, you much complete the form in triplicate. Keep one copy for your files, and send two copies to the address mentioned on the form. If your request for an extension of time is approved, the Department of Finance and Administration will send you an approved copy of AR1055 back to the address you included on the form.
