Colorado State Taxes
Colorado taxpayers who cannot file their return by the due date do not need to file for an extension. According to the Colorado Department of Revenue, you will automatically be granted an extension until October 15, 2011. No paper or electronic form needs to be filed to obtain the automatic extension.
If you anticipate that you will owe additional tax on your return, you should submit your payment with Form DR 158-I, which is included in the Colorado Individual Incoe Tax Booklet (104 booklet).
