Federal Taxes

Complete IRS Form 4868 to receive an automatic six-month extension to file your federal income taxes. Form 4868 should be filed before April 18, 2011.

Georgia State Taxes

Georgia taxpayers who do not file IRS Form 4868 can request an extension of filing Georgia state taxes by filing Form IT-303. Form IT-303 will provide a 180 day extension of time to file Georgia state income tax returns only.

Note: if you have filed and received a federal extension of time to file, it is not necessary to complete Form IT-303. However, you will need to attach a copy of your approved federal extension to your Georgia tax return when filing.
